With 10+ years of browsing through online dating sites, I’ve taken the liberty of doing some research on the top 7 dating apps I would recommend on the App Store. Some or all of these apps are also available on Android devices. Here to do the work so you don’t have to. Moreover, follow along as I break down these sites and provide pointers on what they offer, what you can access for free, and the best uses for each app. Dating has never been more modern. You don’t even have to leave your home to make a meaningful connection or find a quick hookup. Dating is a part of life if you’re interested in falling in love or having sex. • Idea behind the name (slogan): You can be here for a good time and a long time too. Tinder gives you access to finding a hookup, but you can also find love here. They are inclusive of any dating scenario, so anyone can find anyone on Tinder.

• User friendliness: The app is user-friendly and modern with the explore page. Like Hily, you can look for like-minded people here. It also has a feature called vibes that allows you to take a little quiz to find like-minded people based on random questions. In the evening, you will notice a speed dating feature that allows you to chat with someone anonymously. As you send messages, the person is revealed, and you could match with them if you enjoyed your time talking and like what you see on their page.

• Format: Tinder has 4 tabs. Tab 1 is where you can browse through potential matches. Tab 2 is the explore page, where you can check out the different ways you can browse for matches for free. Categories like only verified people, people looking for love, people who are free tonight, friends, coffee dates, and much more! Tab 3 is where, if you have Tinder Gold or platinum you can see who liked you. Here you can also view your top picks. If you don’t have a subscription, you’ll only be able to swipe right or super like the ones you want, but you can’t swipe left. The last tab is for chatting with your matches.

• User preference: To set your preferences, you can click on your profile at the top left of every tab, then click on settings. Here you can decide on distance, age, and gender. No extra preferences for Plus, Gold, or Platinum members.

• My personal experience: Tinder used to only be for hookups, and now you can do so much more on here. I like the addition of the explore page and speed dating option in the evenings. Tinder really tries to make this online dating experience as authentic as possible, and even though it’s not the best, it made the list because of its features and user-friendliness.
